PTSA Membership Information

We have created a communication forum that uses YahooGroups for sharing information with all members.

When you send a message using the PointPTSA@yahoogroups.com address, the message automatically goes to all the PTSA members who have joined our YahooGroup.

Our group uses a moderated format. That means that our web mistress, Carol Weston, has to grant permission for you to join. We have been working on a format for voting on issues.

If you are a paid up member, and have not joined, PointPTSA@yahoogroups.com, we encourage you to do so.

Just go to http://groups.yahoo.com/ In the search box under the Heading JOIN A GROUP enter PointPTSA.

You can register for membership in Yahoo Groups and request permission to join PointPTSA all in the same day.

Once you make the request to join PointPTSA, the web mistress must approve your membership.

Once a member, you have full rights to send messages to the group. That means that there will be no screening of what you say.

Michelle Bjella and I have created a trial method for semi-secret voting on issues. If there are issues that require a membership vote, we ask that all comments (discussion pro or con) be shared with the PointPTSA@yahoogroups.com address. When you are ready to vote, please send your vote(s) either to Michelle Bjella or Bill Hettler at either of the e-mail addresses below.

Please trust us to keep your voting choices private from the rest of the members. We will jointly count the votes, and report the results to the membership. If any members have an idea for a better way to give members a method for voting on issues, please share with the group.

Membership in the Stevens Point PTSA is open to anyone. Our members represent parents of school age children, seniors, teachers, and adults without children. Over the years our members have represented the public schools, the Lutheran Schools, the Catholic Schools and schools in the small communities surrounding Stevens Point.

Membership in the PTSA is $5 this year: $3 goes to the Wisconsin State PTA; $1.25 goes to National PTA and $0.75 goes to our local chapter.
